October 2, 2023
Dear Parents,
Progress reports went home last week, please sign the paper attached to the progress report and return it to school on Monday.
Please have your child turn in his/her homework calendar for the month of September. The October homework calendar was sent home last week.
Friday, October 6th is Spirit Day. Your child can wear St. Germaine spirit wear or green/white. School shoes are still required.
There will be a review packet coming home this week reviewing grammar skills and spelling words up until this point. Please have your child work on it at home when they have time.
In math we will be learning about place value.
Please continue practicing basic addition and subtraction facts at home. The more your child practices, the better they will be! Second grade is an important year to be able to recall those math facts without using fingers, number lines, or manipulatives.
In social studies the students shared their Michigan projects with the class and we learned all kinds of interesting facts about Michigan! The projects will be on display in the hallway and in our classroom.
In religion we will continue learning about the 7 Sacraments.
Looking Ahead:
We do not have school on Friday, October 13th and Monday, October 16th.
